Braizahn Jones

Braizahn Jones is Assistant Principal Bass of the Oregon Symphony and a dedicated educator serving on faculty at Reed College, Portland State University, and the National Orchestral Institute. A graduate of The Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied with Hal Robinson and Edgar Meyer, Jones has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, and appears regularly at festivals including Chamber Music Northwest and Jackson Hole Chamber Music.

Jones founded Umami Bass, an international workshop and performance initiative focused on bass pedagogy and community building, with successful programs in Japan and the United States.
